Missed calls and All calls
What happens when nobody answers, how retries work, and where to see every attempt.
Phones go unanswered sometimes. Companion Calls tries again once, keeps a record of every attempt, and lets you know if it keeps happening.
What happens when a call is missed
- If nobody answers, the line is busy, or voicemail picks up, Rosie hangs up without leaving a message.
- A scheduled call is tried once more about twenty minutes later, if that is still inside the hours you chose. A call started with Call now is not retried.
- Home shows The last call did not connect under Needs you, with a See all calls link.
If calls keep being missed
- After two scheduled calls in a row are missed, you get an email. Calls stay scheduled.
- After three, calls are paused and you get an email. Home shows that sessions were missed, with a link to review the usual time. When you are ready, select Resume at this time on the Schedule tab.
The count starts over after the next call they answer.
See every attempt
- Select Sessions in the menu.
- Select the All calls tab.
Every attempt is listed with its date, whether it was outgoing or incoming, and what happened:
| Label | What it means |
|---|---|
| Completed | They talked with Rosie. |
| No answer | The phone rang out. |
| Line was busy | They were on another call. |
| Voicemail answered | Voicemail or an answering machine picked up. |
| Ended early | The call dropped or ended before the conversation got going. |
| Recording declined | They did not agree to be recorded. |
| Asked not to be called again | They asked Rosie to stop calling. |
| Call could not start | Something went wrong on our side. |
Good to know
Voicemail keeps answering. What can I check? Make sure their phone rings through during the hours you chose (no "do not disturb", no call screening that sends unknown numbers to voicemail), and ask them to pick up with a short "Hello?". A long greeting can sound like an answering machine.
