Stories and the Timeline
Browse every story by part of life, hear it in their own voice, fix a name or date, and see it all on a timeline.
After each call, the conversation is read through and the stories in it are saved: a title, a short summary, the people and places in it, and any dates. Each story links back to the moment it was told.
Browse stories
- Select Stories in the menu.
- Search, or choose a part of life (childhood, coming of age, work and so on) to narrow the list. All parts of life shows everything.
Open a story
A story shows its summary, a quote from the call, the people and places in it, and any dated events.
- Hear this story plays the recording from the moment it was told.
- See the transcript at this turn opens the transcript there.
- Open the session to hear the whole call.
Correct or hide
Computers mishear names and dates sometimes. On a story:
- Select Correct title, Correct summary, Correct name, Correct date wording or Correct description, type the fix, and save it.
- Select Hide from the family to keep a story, a name or an event out of view. You can bring it back with Publish again.
Tip: Corrections change the saved story, not the recording or transcript. Those always stay exactly as they were said.
The Timeline
Select the Timeline tab on the Stories page to see the dated moments from every story in order, from the earliest year to the latest.
