Who's who
You set things up, the person you love gets the calls, and Rosie does the calling.
Three people are part of every call. Knowing who does what makes the rest of this help easier to follow.
You, the keeper
You create the account, add the person you want called, confirm that they have agreed, and choose when calls happen. Afterward, you are the one who listens to recordings, reads the stories, and suggests what to ask about next.
In Companion Calls, you are called the keeper, and the people you add live together under your family.
The participant
This is the person who gets the calls: a parent, a grandparent, or anyone whose stories you want to keep. Companion Calls calls them a participant.
- They do not need a computer, an app, or an account. They only need to answer their phone.
- They are asked for their permission to record at the start of their first call, and they hear a reminder that the call is recorded on every call after that.
- They can say no, take a break, or ask not to be called again at any time, and that is honored.
- If they would like to, they can have their own sign-in to listen to their calls and read their stories.
Rosie
Rosie is the voice on the phone. Rosie calls at the time you choose, listens, asks for the details, and remembers what was said last time.
Rosie is a computer program, not a person, and says so when asked.
Good to know
Can I be both? Yes. You can add yourself with Relationship set to self to try a call, or to keep your own stories.
